Interchange Australia covers an array of respite services, primarily funded by the Australian Government. These respite services povides the families and carers of children, adolescents and adults with a disability and the frail aged with a break from their caring responsibilities.
Interchange Australia’s respite care is flexible and responsive, provides a positive experience for the person receiving care and can be provided at home or at another agreed location.
Unfortunately, there is an enormous demand for respite services and Interchange Australia in partnership with and the support from The Springett Family Foundation have purchased a premises, which allows Interchange Australia to provide 24 hour services, seven day a week. One of those services is respite.
Each year, The Springett Family Foundation provides a minimum of $20,000 to Interchange Australia. These funds are utilised at Springett House to provide overnight and weekend respite, complementing government funding and services. Springett House can accommodate at least four people in the main house and another in a self contained granny flat.
Respite at Springett House is facilitated by appropriately qualified staff engaged to ensure the client’s needs are met whilst at the house.
