Enriching Support Services for Autism – By Interchange Australia Consultant, Amber Hall
The ASDESI program was initiated by the Kollege of Knowledge Kommittee for Kids (KKKK) and provides a range of services for families in the Wingecarribee shire caring for a young person (up to the age of 18 years of age) with ASD.
At the recent 4Ks Ladies lunch on 1st September 2017, an annual fundraiser for the ASDESI Program, a video was shown about the ASDESI Program that outlined the services available. The video also featured an interview with an ASDESI client’s mother that provided a firsthand insight into the benefits of the program.
What support can Interchange Australia provide?
Our consultants can meet with you to discuss your individual needs depending upon either your and/or your child’s interests, personality and life aspirations. We understand that each person diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has different strengths, interests and personalities so we match our support services to your needs.
Depending upon client’s needs and eligibility under the NDIS and/or ASDESI to receive services we can offer supports to improve your daily life and increase your opportunities to experience a wide range of engaging exciting activities including music, cooking, art, drama and other exciting recreational activities.
The ASDESI Holiday Kids Klub is one service that is available for children aged 6-16 years with ASD to have a positive experience during school holidays to:
• participate in fun engaging activities
• try activities that are out of their ‘comfort zone’
• meet new friends
• be supported by friendly and empathetic staff
• gain memorable experiences
